Potion Belt
Where your potions live, how many you can carry, and what happens when you change belts.
Slots
Without a belt you can carry 4 potions. A worn belt adds its own slots on top, up to 16 in all. Better belts are found later:
| Belt | Quality level | Potion slots |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Sash | 1 | 4 |
| Red Sash | 1 | 4 |
| Leather Belt | 6 | 8 |
| Light Belt | 6 | 8 |
| Vine Belt | 6 | 8 |
| Hunter Belt | 11 | 12 |
| Ring Belt | 11 | 12 |
| Skull Belt | 11 | 12 |
| Chain Belt | 16 | 12 |
| Emerald Belt | 20 | 16 |
| Plated Belt | 20 | 16 |
| Talon Belt | 20 | 16 |
| Amethyst Belt | 25 | 16 |
| Gem Belt | 25 | 16 |
| War Belt | 30 | 16 |
The Belt slot on your character shows how full it is, such as "11/16", in gold when it is full.
Picking up and buying
- Every potion you pick up, buy or are given goes straight into the belt.
- When the belt is full, a potion stays on the ground ("Belt is full"), and a trader won't sell you one until you drink one.
- Enemies sometimes drop a potion of their level. Traders always have the potions their level allows, cheaply.
Drinking
Tap the health or the mana potion button on your screen to drink; each shows how many you carry. Potions of the same kind are drunk emptiest first, so you are never left with a row of half-drunk ones. Health and mana potions mix freely in the belt, and you never have to pick a slot.
Tap a potion in the belt's panel to see how much it has left, drink it, or drop it.
Changing belts
Your four slots belong to you. The rest belong to the belt, so its potions go where the belt goes:
- Taking a belt off: the potions past your own four stay in the belt and go into your bag with it. Put it back on and they come back.
- Swapping belts: the new belt's potions join yours, and whatever doesn't fit goes into the belt you took off.
- Dropping a belt: it lands with the potions in its slots. Your own four stay with you.
- Selling a belt from your bag: its potions move into your worn belt as far as there is room, and the rest are sold with it.
Nothing ever spills: a potion only falls at your feet when it has nowhere at all to go.
When you die
The potions in your belt count as part of your pack: you keep them if you rise where you fell, and lose them if you wake at the fire. See Death and Soul-Bound Gear.
