Death and Soul-Bound Gear
What you keep when you fall, what you lose, and how to win it back.
What happens when you die
- Worn gear comes off and goes into your bag, soul-bound. You cannot wear it again until you revive it.
- Your pack (everything else in your bag, the skills in your spellbook, and the potions in your belt) is held until you choose what to do.
- Gold and levels stay as they are.
The death panel tells you what your pack is worth in gold, so you know what you are deciding about.
Your choice
- Watch an ad: rise where you fell, with all your gear back on, your pack back in your bag, and full health.
- Pay gold: the same, when no ad can be shown (for example when you are offline). The price grows with your level, never with what you carry.
- Wake at the bonfire: you come back at the camp's fire, or at your grave if you have not reached the camp yet. Your pack is lost. Your worn gear is still with you, soul-bound.
After waking you take no damage for a few seconds.
Reviving soul-bound gear
A soul-bound item waits in your bag until you revive it. Open it and tap Revive: it costs gold, more for better quality items, and goes straight back on. With more than one soul-bound item, Revive all pays for all of them at once, if you can afford them all.
Each time you wake at the fire, one revival is free: the next item you revive costs nothing. Revive all spends it on your most valuable item.
- Soul-bound items cannot be sold.
- Dying again before you revive them does not cost you them: soul-bound items in your bag stay soul-bound.
- Rising where you fell needs no revival at all: your gear simply goes back on.
